Class Visits by Prospective Students

Prospective students are often concerned about taking 100% online courses.  Having the opportunity to observe a live session has proven to be a strong factor in helping applicants choose Gillings over other programs.

Prospective students may observe your class only:

• With your permission.
• During weeks 3 thru week 11 each term.
• One visitor per weekly live session with a maximum of 4 visits per term
• As an observer.  You are not required to engage the visitor in the class session beyond an introduction unless you choose to do so.
• You will be given 48 hours or more notice that a prospective student is interested in attending your section live session.  You can grant or deny permission.

Class visitors are prepped on the zoom platform prior to the class date so they are comfortable muting their mics and activating their video.  2U technical staff will add the student to the section attendees just before the class and remove them just after the class.  Admissions staff follow up with you after the visit for a quick “how did it go” check in.
